Dear FriendsLast modified: March 24, 2014
I have worked for over 17 years to create a grocery store that embodies a set of ideals rooted in a food system that is restorative, just and nourishing.
Nine years ago, we expanded on that vision and started the Bellingham Public Market, a community space where other like-minded local businesses could work collaboratively under one roof.
I am reaching out to you because we have the remarkable opportunity to take the Bellingham Public Market to the next level. With your help, we aim to rent the other half of our building and remove the wall that currently divides it in two. The resulting space would be 25,000 square feet, 100% of which would be the Public Market!
I have been working with other business owners, an architect, and key community leaders to design a space that fulfills the idea of a destination public market. We would double the size of Terra Organica, add several new businesses, dedicate permanent display areas for local artists and artisans, have a public meeting space, and even quadruple our restroom capacity. We are in talks with a butcher, cheese shop, florist, wine shop, and four different eateries concerning their possible tenancy in the Public Market.
We want you to be a part of our growing success. Your donations and investment will allow us to bring this vision into reality. I am inviting you to become part of the new and expanded Bellingham Public Market.
